Creating a website for a charity sector consultant
Honest Clarity needed a website that would quickly build trust with charity leaders, trustees, and CEOs.
Jason Cater has strong experience within the charity sector, and the website needed to turn that experience into a clear, professional platform. Visitors needed to understand what Jason does, who he helps, and how his approach supports better decision-making within charities.
The site had to feel personal, credible and focused. Jason’s work is built on real-sector experience, strategic clarity, and an understanding of the pressures charity leaders face, so the website needed to reflect that from the first impression.
We placed Jason at the centre of the organisation with his image in the header.
Building trust around Jason
Jason is already known within parts of the charity sector, so we placed him at the centre of the website. The homepage hero image created an immediate connection, showing Jason confidently in a professional setting that reflected the scale of the conversations he supports. The design stayed simple and calm, with a light background, minimal navigation and clear calls to action.
The aim was to make the website feel approachable without losing authority. Charity leaders needed to feel that Honest Clarity understood their world and could support serious strategic decisions.
Establishing Honest Clarity as a brand
The website also needed to establish Honest Clarity as more than a personal profile. The name came from Jason’s core values as a consultant: honest insight, clear thinking and practical direction. We used that idea to shape the tone of the website, the service pages and the overall visual style. Rather than relying solely on Jason’s name, Honest Clarity gave the consultancy a stronger, more expandable identity while still keeping Jason’s experience and personality visible.
Structuring the website around review, strategy and support
We structured the website around Jason’s main areas of work: review, strategy and support. Each service page explained the value of that work in plain English. The content avoided generic consultancy language and instead focused on the real challenges charities face, including fundraising uncertainty, leadership pressure, organisational change, and the need for clearer strategic decisions.
The site also used testimonials, client logos and clear supporting content to build credibility throughout the user journey.
Building on previous experience within the charity sector with targeted SEO.
Focusing SEO on the charity sector experience
The SEO strategy focused on the charity sector rather than broad local search.
We looked at Jason’s experience across areas such as sports organisations, children’s charities, health-related charities, and wider not-for-profit leadership. That helped shape the website content around the sectors, challenges and search terms most relevant to the organisations he wanted to reach.
Using video to bring the consultancy to life
Video added an important layer to the website. The videos gave Jason space to talk directly about his core services, values and approach to consulting. They helped visitors understand how he thinks, how he works and why Honest Clarity feels different from a generic consultancy.
For a service built on trust and judgement, that personal connection mattered. The videos supported the written content and helped potential clients get a clearer sense of Jason before making contact.
Building a flexible WordPress platform
We built the website in WordPress, so Honest Clarity could grow over time. Jason can publish blog posts, add testimonials, update service content and build useful resources for charity leaders. The responsive design gives visitors a clear experience across desktop, tablet and mobile, while the simple header keeps the main navigation focused.
A large footer supports navigation throughout the site, giving visitors easy access to key pages, service links, social media, legal notices, and contact details without overcrowding the main menu.
The result
The Honest Clarity website gives Jason Cater a strong, professional platform for his consultancy. It presents his charity sector experience clearly, supports targeted SEO and gives potential clients a confident route into the conversation. The site feels personal enough to build trust, while giving Honest Clarity the structure and flexibility to grow as a consultancy brand.
