Creating a visual identity for a songwriter with a story
George Baker has spent many years writing, performing and producing music, so The Song Guy brand needed to reflect more than a service. It needed to capture the personality, experience and musical heritage behind his work.
The name The Song Guy gave the brand an immediate, memorable quality. It summed up what George does in a way that felt warm, direct and easy to remember, while still allowing his own name to lead the identity.
A lifetime of music, reflected in the Song Guy branding.
A classic symbol with a modern edge
The vintage microphone became the natural centrepiece of the logo. It evokes the golden era of live club performance, when songs, singers and audiences connected in the room. That sense of performance history mattered because George’s career has roots in both writing and live music.
The sweep beneath the microphone added a more contemporary layer. It suggests movement, sound and broadcast, but also has the feel of a camera lens bringing the subject into focus. That helped move the identity beyond nostalgia, connecting George’s musical past with his current work in songwriting, production and music video.
Connecting George’s musical past with his current work in songwriting, production and music video.
Designed for music, video and digital use
The identity needed to work across the website, video content, social media and promotional material. The black and gold version created a strong stage-like feel, while the alternative lighter version gave the brand flexibility for different uses.
Although the main identity relies on a classic black and gold treatment, the wider palette introduces supporting colours that reflect the different sides of George’s work. The blues, greens and warmer accent tones give the brand more range across photography, archive material, music content and future promotional pieces, without distracting from the main logo style.
The final identity feels personal, musical and professional. It gives George Baker a recognisable brand that reflects his experience, supports his creative services and provides a strong visual foundation for The Song Guy website and wider media work.

Client testimonial
Amazing service!
Amazing service! I recently found myself in a position where I needed to produce a song video very quickly to meet a particularly tight deadline. Whilst searching for a solution, I happened by chance to find Video and Web via Google. That was most definitely my lucky day.
They were extremely professional and responsive. Most importantly, I had a rough sketch in my mind for the video, but Emma was extremely imaginative and came up with lots of ways to enhance the artistic aspects of the project. The video is great and was delivered well ahead of schedule.
I feel that I received very good value for money. So, I’m a very happy customer, and I have no hesitation in recommending Video and Web.
