Creating a professional identity around the Spyrou name
George Spyrou wanted a brand identity that felt clinical, confident and professional without relying on an obvious medical symbol.
For a plastic surgery brand, it would have been easy to choose something literal: a face, a body outline, a medical cross or a cosmetic treatment reference. We avoided that approach because George wanted the brand to feel more refined and authoritative. The identity needed to support his position as an experienced plastic surgeon, not make the clinic look like a generic cosmetic business.
The brand centred on the Spyrou name, so the logo needed to make that name memorable. A simple one-word brand gave the identity clarity, while the abstract spiral device created a visual connection that felt distinctive without becoming too literal.
The spiral also reflected the balance and symmetry at the heart of George’s work.
Developing an abstract logo device
The Spyrou name naturally suggested a spiral, which gave us a strong starting point for the logo device. The idea worked because it created an association without explanation. It gave the brand a recognisable mark that people could connect with the name, while still keeping the overall identity clean and professional.
The spiral also reflected the balance and symmetry at the heart of George’s work. Its clean, controlled form helped communicate proportion, harmony and professional precision, all of which aligned with his approach to plastic surgery.
We explored several draft versions before refining the mark into the final form. The finished device feels calm, balanced and precise, which suited the clinical tone of the website and wider brand. It also gave the identity enough visual character to work across headers, featured images, stationery, digital graphics and supporting materials.
Expressing balance through the tagline
The tagline needed to reflect George’s approach to plastic surgery and align with the visual identity.
Simple solutions, balanced results: Your beauty in good hands, connected directly with the way George describes his work. His approach focuses on proportion, harmony and symmetry rather than exaggerated results. He wanted patients to understand that his aim was not to create the stigma of extreme plastic surgery, but to deliver patient-centred outcomes that feel balanced, considered and appropriate.
That idea helped shape the brand's tone. The words simple, balanced and good hands all support the message of experience, care and clinical judgement. They also helped the website feel reassuring for patients who may arrive with questions, concerns or uncertainty about treatment.
The blue tones gave the identity a calm, medical and trustworthy feel, while the use of white space kept the brand clean.
A calm, clinical palette
The colour palette reinforced the professional positioning. The blue tones gave the identity a calm, medical and trustworthy feel, while the use of white space kept the brand clean and uncluttered.
The logo needed to sit comfortably alongside detailed treatment information, patient resources and clinical imagery. A restrained palette allowed the brand to support that content without overwhelming it.
The result
The Spyrou Clinic brand identity provided George Spyrou with a clear, professional visual platform for his practice.
By leading with the Spyrou name and using an abstract spiral device, the identity became simple, memorable and appropriate for a specialist medical brand. The spiral reflected balance and symmetry, while the tagline added an important human message around proportion, care and patient-centred results.
The final identity avoided cosmetic clichés and created a more authoritative impression, aligning with the wider website’s focus on expertise, clarity, and patient information.
