Registrars may ‘lock’ domain names to stop unauthorised changes from being made to the domain. This is often referred to as ‘Domain Locking’ or ‘Client Transfer Prohibited’. This status may be shown if you perform a WHOIS lookup on a domain name.
Domain Status: clientTransferProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited
If your registrar doesn’t allow you to unlock a domain name for transfer, you should be able to contact them to request this. Once the domain is unlocked, you can then transfer it to Video & Web.
What is the 60-day transfer lock?
When registering a new domain – or transferring a domain name – there is a 60-day transfer lock that can’t be bypassed.
If the Registrant’s contact information has been updated, a 60-day transfer lock will also apply. To ensure your domain can be transferred, you may request the transfer first and then update the contact information once the transfer is complete.
A 60-day transfer lock only applies to Generic TLDs. Other domains – such as country-code TLDs – may follow different policies depending on the local registry for that domain.
